ContiTech Achieves Excellence in TPV Hose Manufacturing
with ZUMBACH ELECTRONIC's UMAC® WALLMASTER & RAYEX® S Solutions

At one of ContiTech´s major plants, which is based in Waltershausen, the Business Area Original Equipment Solutions (OESL) manufactures battery cooling lines for battery electric vehicles.
In the production process, Contitech brings in its huge material competence in using Thermoplastic Vulcanizates for these products to fulfill the high requirements in terms of flexibility, temperatureand pressure resistance.
Lately, Contitech achieved a next level of excellence in TPV Hose manufacturing: Collaborative efforts between OESL and Zumbach Electronic AG engineering lead in an efficiency increase in the quality process and waste reduction by implementing a 100% inspection system.
Zumbach Electronics provided this solution that combined their UMAC® WALLMASTER and RAYEX® S technologies. The UMAC® WALLMASTER allows for continuous measurement and control the inner layer wall thickness as well as the outer diameter, while the RAYEX® S uses x-ray technology to measure the total wall thickness as well as the inner diameter.
